Razz and Stell

Yesterday Razzle attended his first agility trial at Sugarbush (he loved being among all those very exciting dogs) and also experienced his first hose spritzing (that I know of tho very likely Jan exposed the pups to that too!) and the main reason we went: had a grand family tumble and biteyface reunion with his beautiful brother Gambit and stunning sister Phoenix!! It was so cool to see it dawn on them suddenly--glint in the eye recognition!! Wheeee!!!

Bronagh had a great steeplechase Q run with Stella who was a little stressed at first but B hung in there and Stel rallied and poured on the speed to make up for the first set of weaves and the last set were in fire!! The reactive dog that fried Stell the last to
E they ran together was there, but we were proactive.
The day got even hotter so in the final run when Stell popped out of the weaves on the tenth pole and was pokey shutting down B made the right decision and just went on without worrying it and it was a glorious happy finish. I attempted snooker--it was a really weird one--and got an off course before the third red. Had a party and left the ring. I really do want her to grab jumps more so yeah reason for a party. We were in so not very competitive mode. Really just there for the pup reunion and B to meet the pups and peeps.
Razzle is going everywhere with us. Our four page puppy class check list for socialization is just about full now. And he's doing great!! Just fantastic. Easy boy! Likes his xpen and now also his crate, is an excellent traveler and is making headway with playing with Stella--they are figuring it out.
I'll get some pictures up a little later.

inversion of nostalgia

She has no idea how her life will/is about to change forever. I am so sad for her this morning. I think I may be starting to feel/feeling about Stella's imminent singledogdom the way agilejack feels about her extrees... Except I am feeling it in the weeks before because I KNOW it's coming. And I am also thinking that for anyone here it's very likely been so long since they've ever had just a single dog if they EVER had a single dog it would be impossible to remember exactly what's lost? But if anyone does remember I'd like to hear about it

Survey survey survey because I'm curious

Ok agility and other miscellaneous dog peoples: what does your actual week of training look like? And is this by default or choice? Do you have a more ideal sked or plan in mind? Details please. Or not.

Good. Being good.

1. Trimmed the ice-catching balling up hair from between Stel's pads and prettied up her feet because I hear she was miserable about her feet while I was gone in the ten inches of snow. It's just certain kinds of snow that does that ice balling. Not sure which. 2. I'm thinking if hiring Butters and Dawn to help me fix the cat-chase game this year before the puppy comes. I wonder what they charge. Stella loves her kitties. And at least one if them thinks Stel is her mom. But sometimes/often those kitties bait her and all in fun start the game themselves but i think with more than one dog the kitties are too quickly out of their league. And that blur of cat becomes too eatable.

Happy Fifth Month Birthday to Stella!

Stella is five months old today (on antonstrout's birthday). She gets peanut butter cookies and a bison bone...

and I've started letting her (only twice--my heart is in my throat because I am not sure she won't just head for the hills) off leash in the morning to romp with her new friends in the meadow in Prospect Park...

here with Cookie and Sandy and someone else..

and now Belle is joining her too

there seems to be a lot of jumping on eachother and butt sniffing and fast turns...

I hope she likes living with us...

we are major suckers for her...

this is us and my sis matildasmom wearing the pajamas she gave us for xmas...
