Some freakin people

Last walk of the night, a guy and his dog are coming up the block toward us and his dog starts barking at Razz and Stel from a distance. This is already Stel's least favorite time of night to be walking because it's when she got bitten. And tonight it's garbage and recycling that are out, so the sidewalk is really congested. I want to cross to the other side of the street but the garbage and recycling is blocking our way all along and I ask the guy to wait a second until I can find somewhere to get through to between the parked cars... He doesn't wait. The barking lunging dog keeps coming. Stel is frozen now and I have to drag her out of the way of this dog into the garbage bags. Razz has no problem clearing the garbage and getting behind me between cars, but Stel is still stuck... The guy stops right there to say something to me, I don't know what he is saying, his dog is so loud and lunging at Stel and I ask him to just please move on... And he goes off on me. Still standing there. Like what his dog is doing is normal and fine and I am being rude asking him to keep going.

Poor Stel. We did a few tricks on people's stoops the rest of the way home to try to reestablish her jovial equilibrium but this was not good.

Not good.

Sorry that this happened. I hope you could jolly her up quickly since she probably gets a lot of signals from you! Cookie time!

She seems herself today! No worse for the wear. Thankfully. We went to off leash late so she wouldn't have a lot of dogs to deal with and there were only two out there-- and then we hiked through the park woods--both dogs very happy and satisfied

That's so-o-o-o rude of that guy. When I had dogs, I would always wait (at a distance) till someone else with a dog walked by so that I could avoid that kind of thing.

A clueless, self centered, a-hole... Too many in this neighborhood in my opinion.

Ugh, I don't miss it or the attitudes. We have a lot of douche bags here in Austin with their own special annoying behavior, but I don't miss that. It's so rare that something like that happen here.

I think there are people who don't think and don't know or must just get so used to their dogs aggressive behavior they are so tuned out and immune to how it effects everyone around them.

So many dumbarses. I had a similar stupid problem last night, I am in full sympathy mode for you and Stella. They just don't get it

Although I'm thinking karma was at work that night, because just up the block from that nasty encounter we'd passed a woman pushing a cart with a dog tied to it and she was picking through the rich people's garbages and she freaked a little when she saw us coming down the block and went to gather her dog and I was happy to find a spot at the hydrant to take Razz and Stel on a wide route around onto the street. Me thinks perhaps her dog also had issues cause About the time the man and his dog would have gotten up the block to where she was after our skirmish we heard a Yelp... I'm guessing the man was clueless enough to walk right into that trouble

Poor Stella... The dog was probably an asshole because his owner is one. Grrr.

Funny how that happens
