Razzle and sirens and alarms

he does this now for fire engines and ambulances and car alarms on the street... the husband wonders if it is because it hurts his ears, but i think these are possibly universal sounds of alarm and just run deep

I've known a number of dogs who "sang" along with sirens. Some of them looked a bit concerned like Razzle did there, but at least one was wagging his tail and the howl was rather joyful. So weird, but cute.

Razzle has a lovely howl. Very resonant.

I only ever had my Dal react by howling to sirens. I do sort of feel like they're "joining in" rather than reacting. Reacting = Razor. BARK!! BARK !! alarm BARK! but he doesn't do that for sirens, just fireworks and thunder. Poor guy.

Fred howls when he's lonely or feels like he's been left out of something wonderful. It's super sad... Howly Fred.

Razzle has another howl that does sound very mournful... there is a particular squeaky toy that brings that one on, but less now that he's older

Toshiro used to howl at sirens. He was otherwise a very quiet dog. He hardly ever barked.

The guard dogs at the farm do this and the sirens aren't close enough to hurt their ears. I think some dogs just do it. I think it is cute!

We have three HUGE wolf-dog hybrids two houses over and they howl LOUDLY at every siren they hear. All day and friggin' night.

I know a lot of dogs who do that. Once I was teaching class and about half the dogs stopped to howl so the humans did too.
