He has done puppy seminars already with Judy Reilly and Stacey Peadot-Goudy. He's in an agility fundamentals puppy class with Monique Plinck and is scheduled in another puppy seminar with Lo Baker... Mostly its B taking him, but last week she was out of town with her job and I got to take him to Monique's class and he was perfect. PERFECT! Such fun and learning so quickly and so excited about everything ab out life. We finished the class with an "obstacle course" of like 15 weird things and he was all, And whats next????? Lets DO this? What else??

Of course he has licked a dead snake caught in the deer fence and then promptly puked his guts out. He has eaten cat poop and crab apples and rolled in the stinkyest scat he could find---a few times. He may or may not have eaten three zyrtec pills so we had to make him puke... he climbs on everything, he brought fleas into our home for the first time ever. He likes to dig holes in the yard.

But he now gets through the night. Whew!

Oh no. He's still a puppy. Yep. Way puppy still. But he's growing up fast.

I had noticed that Razzle had been missing from LJ, but now I know how busy he has been! So have you decided that your worries about bringing him into Stella's life were unnecessary? Looks like a good fit!

My husband thinks Stella is crushed and heartbroken... there was a class early on that she heard Razzle screaming in his crate and she could not do a thing. She could not hear, she could not move... it was upsetting. We try to make sure she gets big girl time and Razz's presence is somewhat diluted by the arrival of Matilda and Joey... although there Stella often finds herself a third wheel frequently because she wants to play too, but Razz and Joey make it hard to get in on their games... so sometimes it works with all three and sometimes it doesn't... its still an adjustment... I was really pleased that she did not shut down at MEB's camp. Even when Razz threw a fit a couple times over the two days when he heard us running... she was really good.
but at the camp Jen Pinder told me: You have TERRIBLE connection!

Hopefully, Stella is just confused about the change. Crushed and heartbroken are such loaded terms to describe what a dog is thinking. Not being able to work when Razzle was screaming seems to show a connection between Stella and Razz.

I still think Stella will come around. Maybe not very bestest buddies, but not all human siblings would be friends if they didn't live together. And I won't even tell you what I think when somebody casually throws out the pronouncement that "you have no connection with your dog" upon seeing instances of the dog not being able to respond in the face of distractions.

He sounds like a very busy pup not only training wise, but in life too!

What kinds of things are they doing in puppy agility. Curious and looking for things to do with Hoot.

Restrained Recalls
Use of a marker word and a clicker
Release Word
Holding five seconds stationary positions: sit, stand or down
Body awareness exercises like Perch, four Feet in a box, back up and
this was hard but we got it: front feet up on one book and back feet up on another book.

In class we also do this exercise of swapping toys with others in the class and getting our dog to play with ANY toy. Last time we had ten seconds to get the dog engaged which in the midst of other dogs playing was harder than I thought </p>

We've been doing mUltiple hand touches (both hands all different locations) before reward
Playing the 2 toy games

We did that "obstacle" course of all different weird things in class (pool noodles cardboard boxes plastic bins steps a board a ladder like that) and our homework is on the flat---recall to heel exercises and digging in and excellerating out of a turn round a wing

Thanks so much! I haven't done a ton of the perch work, so will get on that and he still sucks at playing with a toy, but works his rear end off for food. I been working on wrapping a jump too. Thanks again!

Although I have seen the snippets on FB, it is always nice to get some of the more in depth info on LJ. :-) How nice that B is able to do so many activities with Razz while she is home for the summer, that is working out great!
