oh and this is particularly wild and interesting... that experiences of past generations can genetically effect offspring down the line...

No wonder I act as if I was starved for 5 years in a war prison camp... explains a lot really. My siblings and I joke all the time about "back in the war..." because of our odd behaviors. Our friends joke that at a Mellon potluck, we are always the first to eat, even though we are hosting, we kind of turn into a pack of wolves around food...

It's amazing to think about ancestors not just about their history but how that history shaped our bodies and brains, man, I am going to obsess on this all day.

As an adoptee I find that super interesting.

My husband is afraid of heights. When I was showing his parents the photos from the church in Vienna and the 15 stories of scaffolding I climbed up to the cupola, his mom mentioned she was afraid of heights, too! Guess he
comes by it naturally :)

I guess my offspring will be deathly afraid of roaches (you know, the big flying ones we have down here).
