our first step to walking feet on feet

I've been working on that trick, the one where the dog puts its front paws on your feet and you walk feet on feet?
Five sessions and Stel would NOT dare even THINK of stepping on me. Not even with luring.

So I broke out the MM because I thought maybe for the MM she'd sort of forget it was me, forget worrying about stepping on my feet and just try more things. ok, I was wrong.

So I thought about how to break it down. Try just my shoes and no me.

Even THAT was hard for her at first. Sooooo ok ok ok, baby steps. After a few more sessions, this is where we are and I'm starting to feel good about it.

Very good! Maybe I should try that approach with Matilda, too. I wasn't having much luck getting her to step on my feet either.

Does she know paw tricks. You can ask her and raise your foot at the same time (easier to do in a chair), then fade your hand / foot position.

Did you try putting a target on your shoes that she already knows how to touch?

no. not yet. and that would be the easy button and that would not be so easy to balance on my foot ; ) I guess I was thinking she should figure it all out herself. I'll try (east coast relocated) Dawn's suggestion, she will put her paw in my hand and I suppose then I can fade it... I need her to come from behind tho... oh logistics logistics logistics

I used "feet", as I hadn't used that for anything else...
