Last night in class someone noticed there was a nail sticking out on the DW just before the contact where a piece of the slat had broken off... the solution was to pound the nail in with a rock some and put silver duct tape over the slat area... and so then in class Stella leapt the contact 100% of the time. I am positive it was that little piece of duct tape that made her wonky because I have not had to worry about her getting her contacts for, well, all summer... she got em all weekend.

But then this morning I had her run our DW at home for breakfast and in one direction she missed the contact 50% of the time... ok so we have muddy bare-patch in the landing area... but now I'm thinking gah, that little piece of duct tape has set us back six months and we have USDAA all day every day this weekend fri--sun. B is supposed to run her too.

Boo Stella.

I guess we will do some more basic recon work later and tomorrow... just when I was getting to the secure place about contacts to be able to tackle some other stuff that needs more serious tackling

Maybe PUT duct tape on the contact your using. LOTS of it. Show it to her, and then reward what you like. Dogs are so superstitious!
