leashing up the rabbit pelt

My little after breakfast project this morning was to upgrade and put into use a polar fleece and nylon ribbon braided leash that was meant to be a tug leash for Stella but failed to interest her so its been at the bottom of a basket by the door for a couple of years...

I still have a couple of those non-toxic Clean Run rabbit pelts hanging around I never did anything with, so I picked the pretty chocolatier colored one and cut it into three lengthwise strips and using pliers wove the strips into the braided leash. Stella was already tugging on it in the kitchen before I was even half way finished... and it seems it will be a good cat toy too now.

I don't know what is legal at what venues in the way of leashes... I know AKC has rules anyway, I'll have to look these up. Meanwhile  I can use it to razz Stel in class...

the cats are all "you SURE this thing is dead? Very sure? We could kill it for you..."

generally anything fuzzy in the house (including pipe cleaner finger puppets and mohair hats) gets killed and left at the front door
