Of course I am not biased at all, but I think she is brilliant.

stella blue em away

At the ripe age of nine, Stella seems to suddenly be in her sort of second wind agility dog prime. Its bizarre and yet makes sense. I mean, she was our training-wheels dog (poor girl) and we've learned a lot more about what agility is and what it is not and more of everything (both the hardworks and magics) that goes into making a happy and strong and confidently focussed dog... Razzle has been an excellent teacher, to me and I believe also to Stel. Plus he's taken the pressure, whatever pressure there might have been, off her.

So, in B's grand plan of cramming AKC a slew of trials for Razz, she scheduled me a Friday a couple of weeks ago at Dream Park with both dogs on my own---her plan was to then come down and join us the next day. I have to say, I do love those days on my own with both dogs. Simple emotionally, even if complicated logistically. Like, for example both Razz and Stel were entered in Time2Beat at 20 inches and really, tho nerve-racking, this sort of added to the fun, because even with moving Stel to the bottom of 20 inches, (they had been just a couple dogs apart) she was still running just five dogs after Razz and so I had to reward and relay him right back to the car (which we park way out as far from other barking dogs as possible) to get Stel, pottied and stretched and warmed-up, right back to the ring. Got there, the dog right before us running in the ring. perfect. whew.

So that was fun...

I keep thinking that Stella will keep moving up in AKC to the point where she won't be happy with the harder courses. Novice and Open courses have been real fun for her, and thats all we are doing with her, fun, but now she is in Excellent JWW. She and I both hate pinwheels. I am always walking these courses unlike everyone else walking with the idea of what will be best for Stella, sometimes kooky choices, mainly finding anyway possible that I can STAY IN MOTION and be ahead, but not too far ahead, so basically pushing the line of WITH. And there were a number of pinwheels in this Excellent JWW course, ugh, and it was her last run of the day, so maybe not so high octane Stella... so my plan was do the opening and by the weaves I would know, if she was slow and stressy in the weaves I would just continue on straight out of the ring over two off course jumps to the finish. but if she was actually weaving, we'd give it a go.

Look at her run, I'm so proud of our muppetpuppet. 107 20-inch dogs running in the class and she walks off with the blue ribbon... ok, so maybe half of them were masters dogs... but even so, So many dogs were knocking bars and going off course... Stella Blue Em All Away

Not sure how I feel

As soon as Razzle lets me I'm going to post about Stella... meanwhile I'm really not sure how I feel about LJs new love button...

Lines and Times

Ok so I did make a graduation video for Silvia's Beyond Foundations class even tho we got rushed at the end with Razzs injury taking us out of the game for awhile and didn't accomplish all I wanted... I decided I would put together what we did do.
Time consuming project, the video making, and so much angst over what music, but ultimately fun to pull it all together in one place.

So here's the link, and as with all Silvia's classes there are prizes for the grad vids with the most likes... like away!! Everyone of them has a special look into the world of Silvia's students. I think Razz and I are the fifth or sixth vid down on the first page...

I am terrible at settling on verbals and time passes and then I don't have them.

I want a backside wing verbal I can live with. I will need it I can see that. So one B can live with if she ever happens to need one...

Stella's is push. We don't like push for Razzle. Back is already in use for something else. Out? Well maybe but it's useful for get out maybe not just around a wing. Around is too soft too long. Round is too soft.
Okrog = around in Slovenian
And then there is Finnish

And so on... Nothing feels right yet. We've been thinking on this too long already.

Night birds

So far I have heard the Eastern Screech Owl and Barred Owl around here in CT. And one I don't know which it is, but it really sounds like it's just saying Who
Anyway Tonight it's the Barred Owl. Echoing over the lake.
I wish they would eat our moles.

So people like people we respect are still trying to tell us not to train a running DW.
