Jared's dog blog

The guy who is getting our pup's B&W litter brother just launched his dog blog and I'm passing it on because I like the way this guy thinks and he seems like a nice guy and this could turn out to be a good blog. This entry is pretty serious, but I know he can be funny too---of course the blog is not on LJ (which is too bad) its a wordpress blog...
FYI: He's naming his puppy Gambit.

Stella and I needed a leash walk so we headed to the Petco that isn't called Petco but instead pretends to be something else where this neighborhood will shop at---Unleashed and we picked out a collar just to get us started... when B gets home we will get something more special I am sure. I kinda like the blue monsters for our blue merle boy

We have Unleashed in Claremont, too, but the big stores in other cities nearby are still Petco.

Rumble's litter bro (who is red) is named Gambit! I'd never heard it before, and now I "know" two of them! What are the chances?

I like that blue monster collar. One of the ONLY thing I don't like about my dogs is that they have such heavy coats that you could put naked lady collars on them and no one would EVER see. Fancy collars and even cool tags just get lost in all that hair. Prolly the same with Stella eh?

Every time I go to Petco I see that collar and seriously think about getting a matching set for my dogs since they are the monsters and our color is blue. But, yeah, you can't see it on the herding dogs and I have a hard time spending money on things we already have anyway. It is super cute though!

Try up country collars. They have a zillion styles. Whisper's puppy set was from them. And she's been wearing one of their collars for like 7 years and it still looks brand new.

Also an Austin company called Melly has great collars and she will custom make a puppy collar for you. She's a nice lady.

Jared's blog called to mind a hilarious story from a few years back. T and I went to visit her mom and while there we took her Welsh Corgi for a walk. Outside a store, a lady stopped and looked at him and said "Is that a Datsun?"

and I SOOOO wanted to say "no, it's a Toyota!" but I didn't, I just said Corgi.

What the heck is a Doxen? He says it twice. Sure, I know what he means, but it seems odd to me to use that abbreviation. I'd never seen it before. I've seen Doxie... but never Doxen.
