weekend plans weakening

Is two hours too far to drive for a RunThru to a place you've never been? Snow conditions predicted? In a borrowed car? Possibly not even a regulation DW?
I'm thinking the DW could be a deal-breaker, I put in a call...
and I was so looking forward to getting moving on my generalize Stellabear's DW plan...

you guys out there in the northwest seem to have so many more options of nice places to practice

non-sequitor PS: what is this "TMT" club?

Just the fact that you have to ask that question says to me that you're not really crazy enough (yet) to do this on an iffy weekend with and iffy dogwalk. Don't worry, it's only a matter of time.

errrr, how right you are!
I do have a couple other run thru places scheduled in the coming weeks, one next weekend about a half hour away and I'm looking for more nearer by... I'm def leaning more toward thinking of al the better ways to spend those four or seven driving hours---seven from here in the city

Two hours ONE way?? or back and forth?
Cause i often drive well over an hour for practice, fun runs, etc.

But two... hmmm, only if there was a HAPPENING brew pub on the way back. ;)

well, its two hours to Ct, overnight there and two hours farther up on Sunday... so I guess tht would be a total of eight hours for probably four runs at a place I don't know... I've talked myself out of it!!!!

you know the thing is, I never know what the limits of crazy should really be... when there aren't a lot of other options... but now I think time might be better spent looking some more on the internetz

I think the limits of crazy probably start with "I don't really wanta"

I would LIKE to run the ASCA next weekend, but with the groin pull, probably not gonna happen. That would push the limits of crazy.

So yeah, maybe start looking for events in "venues" that you don't normally run, but are cheap. Do you guys even HAVE ASCA out there? if so, they're normally priced very reasonable and you could get work on DW that are new.

This site is good for looking up trials in venues you don't normally run:

Just plug in your state, and states nearby (and you have a better deal there. We have Washington, that's IT! nothing else is close) and then the organizations and it will certainly help you out.

Bahahaha, I just did NY (as the state) and ASCA and there was ONE event listed for NEXT December. Ok, strike that one. hahahah

But, you seem to be LOADED with CPE. It's rare to see more than one CPE event around here every month or two.

There is a lot of CPE... but I'm looking to "train in the ring" at some (less expensive) run thrus... thats so really great of you to look up ASCA in NY--thanks. I'll give NJ and CT a look up... and I should check in with UKI again.

CPE is getting very popular up and down the Eastern seaboard. As for crazy limits, that sounds like another good TMT question: how far would you drive, one way, to practice your running dog walk?

East coast has way more trials a weekend than here. Especially USDAA. That was one of things I knew was going to bother me when I moved back to the west coast.

Practice: 1.5 hours
Class: 1.75 hours

300 miles a week!

No wonder my 2010 Kia Soul has 75,000 miles on it!

Just answer the questions on friday, if you choose.
